New Year's Message

Dear members of the Taekwondo family,

The vibrant and hopeful new year of the Blue Snake has arrived. symbolizing prosperity and fertility, an animal known for its adaptability and wisdom.

As we welcome this Year of the Blue Dragon, an adaptable and wise creature symbolizing abundance and fertility, I wish all of your dedication and efforts come to fruition and bring you great success.

The strength and message of peace demonstrated by Taekwondo at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris last year moved us and brought joy to everyone.

In order to continuously see positive changes in Taekwondo which evolved from Korea’s traditional martial art into an Olympic sport and global cultural content, it is crucial for Taekwondo to never lose its foundation as a martial art.

Kukkiwon will continue to uphold the essence of Taekwondo while taking on new challenges to secure future competitiveness.

I would like to ask all the members of the Taekwondo family to join in shaping the future of Taekwondo with a sense of responsibility and mission and to remain faithful to your roles.

I look forward to how our efforts, both big and small, will resonate and spread further in Taekwondo.
