Taekwondo first began as a native martial art of the Republic of Korea but has now been disseminated as a global sport and culture.

As the global Taekwondo headquarters leading its globalization, Kukkiwon is playing the pivotal role for global Taekwondo families numbering approximately 150 million.

It has striven to expand the Taekwondo base by actively operating its businesses such as Dan/high Dan promotion test, training and education of Taekwondo leaders, R&D on Taekwondo skills and theories, World Taekwondo Hanmadang, and operation of Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

Additionally, Kukkiwon executes open administration befitting the global era to back the communication and union of global Taekwondo families.

Kukkiwon will continue to adhere to the basics and principles and step forward to usher in a bright future for Taekwondo based on your trust.
