  • 07.01.Completed entire computerized issuance of Taekwondo Poom and Dan certificates
  • 02.01.Designated as training site for the 1988 Seoul Olympics (Kukkiwon Central Training Center)

1987

  • 12.23.Meeting held in relation to cooperation for overseas promotion testing work

  • 11.30.Published “Taekwondo Textbook”
    Published “Footsteps of Kukkiwon: 15th Anniversary Edition”
  • 08.21.Hosted 1st Kukkiwon Executive Summer Retreat
  • 02.26.Decided to change the basic terminology of Taekwondo to pure Korean terms (effective March 1)

1986

  • 09.18.Designated as training site for the 1986 Seoul Asian Games (Kukkiwon Central Training Center)
    IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch awarded the honorary 10th Dan
  • 07.01.Opened Kukkiwon restaurant

1985

  • 06.01.Began computerized issuance of Taekwondo Poom and Dan certificates
  • 09.02.Held 1st World Taekwondo Academic Conference

1984

  • 08.16.Established memorial monument for the 1st World Taekwondo Championships
  • 01.17.Taekwondo Instructor Training Center designated as a nationally recognized Taekwondo instructor training institution

1982

  • 11.30.Published “Footsteps of Kukkiwon: 10th Anniversary Edition”
  • 11.29.Taekwondo Instructor Training Center approved by the National Sports Promotion Act
  • 09.01.Opened the Taekwondo Instructor Training Center (now World Taekwondo Academy)
