Flower of Martial Art Sublimated into Art: Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team

Launched on September 6, 1974, the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team has spearheaded the globalization of Taekwondo as a diplomatic delegation as it tours more than 130 countries around the world.

Touring around 15 countries every year, it not only disseminates Taekwondo but also plays the role of a non-governmental diplomat to promote Korean culture or a missionary of Taekwondo and Korean culture.

The demonstration performance to greet important foreign figures who visit Korea or which is held on an overseas stage is a diplomatic activity in itself at the forefront of raising the brand value of Taekwondo and Korean culture.

In particular, it preserves the authentic demonstration and presents the new paradigm of Taekwondo demonstration at the same time. It also contributes to the development of the tourism industry by planning and practicing the regular demonstration performance for foreign tourists.

The Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team faithfully plays the role of disseminating Taekwondo and promoting Korean culture as the center for enhancing competitiveness for the country of origin of the Taekwondo culture by leading the creation of a new Taekwondo demonstration culture.
