A Step Towards Harmony and Peace with Taekwondo

As part of the sports instructor education project for Official Development Assistance (ODA) operated by the Korean Sports Association, Kukkiwon has been running the Taekwondo Expert Training Program for Taekwondo dan holders in developing countries since 2014.

By incorporating the specialized educational function of the World Taekwondo Academy (WTA) and educating trainees with Kukkiwon’s standardized traditional Taekwondo, Kukkiwon develops trainees’ knowledge in Taekwondo theories and practical skills and, cultivates trainees into internationally competent Taekwondo instructors.

At the same time, Kukkiwon promotes Korea’s image and reputation by offering trainees opportunities to experience various aspects of Korea's diverse and beautiful culture in cities like Jeonju and Gyeongju.

In 2023, 48 participants from 42 countries successfully completed a four-week program covering Taekwondo theories, practical training, special lectures and the WTA Level 3 International Taekwondo Instructor Training Course.

Maintaining a stable network with international Taekwondo experts cultivated through this program, Kukkiwon will continue to strive to achieve harmony and peace through Taekwondo.
