From July 5th (Fri) to July 9th (Tue), 132 participants from 32 countries participated in the program

Kukkiwon's World Taekwondo Academy successfully concluded the “111th International Taekwondo Instructor Training Program for Foreigners”.

From July 5th (Fri) to July 9th (Tue), 132 participants from 32 countries (14 countries in Asia, 7 in Europe, 4 in Pan America, 6 in Africa, and 1 in Oceania) took part in the International Foreign Taekwondo Instructor Course (Levels 1, 2, and 3) held at Kukkiwon’s central training hall and lecture rooms.

The International Taekwondo Instructor Training Program for Foreigners aims to cultivate foreign instructors with professional knowledge and personal integrity, promoting the spirit and standardized techniques of taekwondo.

The program began with an opening ceremony on the 5th and was conducted over five days, covering theoretical subjects such as △Taekwondo Evaluation Regulations, △Spirit and History of Taekwondo, △Character Education and △Basic Movements as well as practical subjects such as △Poomsae (for colored belts and black belts), △Demonstration, △Sparring, △Self-Defense and △Breaking.

The program was received well by the participants as it included breaking and demonstration subjects that the instructors can use in their actual teaching environments.

On the final day, July 9th, written and practical exams were followed by a completion ceremony.

During the completion ceremony, Kukkiwon President Lee Dong-sup awarded certificates of commendation and offered words of encouragement to 16 outstanding trainees, including Galip Z. Yalcinkaya.

"I believe that your love and interest in taekwondo have grown through this training. Each of you is now a taekwondo instructor certified by Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters. Please return to your home countries with pride and continue to promote taekwondo" commented President Lee Dong-sup.

Meanwhile, following the International Taekwondo Instructor Course for Foreigners, the WTA will run a three-day poom and dan promotion examiner training program (Levels 1, 2, and 3) for foreigners from July 10th (Wed) to July 12th (Fri).
