Lee Chung-young, Professor at Korea Nazarene University Appointed as New Director of the Taekwondo Research Institute at Kukkiwon

Letter of appointment was presented on May 8th (Wed), in the VIP room of Kukkiwon, Director Lee Chung-young, a 9th Dan in Taekwondo carries out various activities in the field of sports and Taekwondo

 
 

Lee Chung-young, professor at Korea Nazarene University, has been appointed as the new director of the Taekwondo Research Institute at Kukkiwon.

 

On May 8th (Wed), in the VIP room of Kukkiwon, in the presence of the staff members, Kukkiwon President Lee Dong-sup presented the letter of appointment to Director Lee Chung-young.

 

Director Lee Chung-young, a 9th Dan in Taekwondo, graduated from the Department of Physical Education at Sejong University and received a master's degree in Sports Diplomacy from Kyung Hee University and a doctoral degree from Korea University.

 

Director Lee established the Taekwondo Missionary Department at Korea Nazarene University in 2003 and has dedicated over 20 years of his life providing quality education to foster future generations and develop Taekwondo.

 

He currently holds various positions in the sports and Taekwondo community, including Vice President of the Korean University Taekwondo Federation, member of the Human Rights Committee of the Korea Sports Association, member of the Marketing Committee of the Korean Paralympic Committee and Vice President of the World Society of Taekwondo Culture and, he continues to carry out various activities in the field of sports and Taekwondo.

 

"I sincerely appreciate the warm welcome. I will do my best to make this place a research institute that contributes to the advancement of Taekwondo" commented Director Lee.

 

The director of the research institute is appointed by the president of Kukkiwon as a non-regular position and oversees all matters related to the Taekwondo Research Institute.
