Chairman of the Thai Senate Standing Committee on Sports Visits Kukkiwon

The Committee visited Kukkiwon on Friday, May 3rd, at 2:30 PM The representatives had a conversation and watched a taekwondo demonstration performance

 

General Surachet Chaiwong, Chairman of the Thai Senate Standing Committee on Sports (hereinafter referred to as the “Chairman”), visited Kukkiwon.

 

On Friday, May 3rd, at 2:30 PM, six guests including Chairman Surachet Chaiwong, and Vice Chairman Thawip Netniyom visited Kukkiwon, met with Kukkiwon Chairman of the Board Jeon Gap-gil and President Lee Dong-sup. They engaged in a pleasant conversation and watched a performance by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

 

This visit was arranged as the Thai Senate Standing Committee on Sports had let Kukkiwon know its wish to visit Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters to exchange ideas on promoting and developing taekwondo.

 

“It’s our pleasure to visit Kukkiwon. Taekwondo is an important sport in Thailand and we would like to discuss the development of sports industries, including taekwondo” Chairman Surachet Chaiwong said during the meeting.

 

“We thank you for visiting Kukkiwon which is the world’s taekwondo headquarters. Taekwondo is probably popular because it has great educational values centered around character and etiquette development. Kukkiwon also sees Thailand as a key partner we want to move forward together with and we are hoping to continue this exchange and cooperation between Thailand and Kukkiwon” President Lee Dong-sup replied.

 

Following the meeting, they enjoyed a demonstration performance prepared by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team.

 

The delegation including Chairman Surachet Chaiwong gave a big round of applause, showing admiration for the advanced traditional taekwondo demonstration performed by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team

 

The delegation which visited Korea on April 29th will be visiting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Korean National Sports University and Kosin University and lastly Kukkiwon before returning home on May 4th.
