New Year Message

Dear members of Taekwondo family!

It is the new Year of the Blue Dragon filled with happiness and hopes.

In 2023, overcoming big obstacles with hard work and perseverance, the members of Taekwondo family were able to come together.

Taekwondo which is Korea’s traditional martial art is practiced by over 200 million people around the world. It started the first Hallyu or the Korean Wave and it is a driving force behind the rise of Korean content.

Taekwondo which has grown tremendously over the years is at a major turning point in the midst challenges and rapid changes happening around the world.

In order for Taekwondo to not lose its fundamental essence as a martial art and to move in the right direction, there needs to be systematic improvement and technical innovation.

Also, we need to actively change our perspectives and get rid of wrong practices.

Stepping away from complacency and old ways of doing things, Kukkiwon will move forward towards new changes and innovation with strong determination.

We would like to ask for your continued support and love this year and also, we sincerely wish you nothing but success in everything you choose to do.
