Taekwondo Promotion Video to Be Played on Elevator Screens Across the Nation

Kukkiwon to carry out a 1-month video promotion using 20,000 apartment elevator screens across the nation starting on November 1

The first-ever Taekwondo-themed video promotion will be carried out.

Kukkiwon announced that for a month starting on November 1, a video promoting Taekwondo will be shown on 20,000 Townboard screens installed in apartment elevators across the nation.

Two versions of the video will be played in a row on 20,000 Townboard screens of KTis, the nation’s largest apartment digital board company. Both versions are 15 seconds long.

The video will deliver two key messages. One is that although children account for majority of Taekwondo trainees, Taekwondo is a sport beneficial to all persons, regardless of their age or gender. Another point is that practicing Taekwondo can be a form of meditation and be effective for weight control, cardio and muscular development. The video will have subtitles as well.

Kukkiwon has decided to carry out this video promotion to promote Taekwondo academies across the nation and to emphasize the benefits of Taekwondo for people of all ages. Understanding the purpose of Kukkiwon’s video promotion, KTis has decided to actively cooperate with this campaign. To show this video on screens installed in Taekwondo academies as well, KTis has specially manufactured horizontal display screens. The video will be played in 12,725 academies at home and abroad in two versions, Korean and English.

20,000 screens installed in apartment elevators in the capital area, 5 broad-area local governments and basic local governments, will play the video 50 times a day, and 30 million times a day, reaching about 2 million households.

“KTis will actively cooperate with Kukkiwon to promote Korea’s national martial art Taekwondo and academies across the nation. Townboard elevator screens installed in apartments across the nation will have direct and immediate effect on promoting the benefits of Taekwondo” said Kim Han-seong, a managing director at KTis.

Kukkiwon plans to provide the video to academies (KPS, KMS) at home and abroad and, the video will be uploaded and be available for download on the Kukkiwon website at 12:00 on November 1.

Kukkiwon will also run a special giveaway event on YouTube. The event will be open while the video is up on the channel. You can participate in the event by subscribing to Kukkiwon’s YouTube channel and commenting on the video. 50 winners will be picked randomly and be given a mobile coffee voucher.

“We hope this video promotion World Taekwondo Headquarters Kukkiwon is carrying out for the very first time reaches a lot of people and gives them the opportunity to understand how amazing this martial art is and various benefits of Taekwondo. We will also continue to look for more ways to promote and support Taekwondo academies around the world” said Kukkiwon President Lee Dong-sup.
