Kukkiwon Wraps Up “2022 Global Taekwondo Master Training Program”
Certificate Award Ceremony held at 9am on October 11 (Tue) in the main building of Kukkiwon … 4-week training program participated by 43 trainees from 29 countries.
Kukkiwon has successfully wrapped up the “2022 Global Taekwondo Master Training Program”.
The certificate award ceremony was held at 9am on October 11 (Tue) in the main building of Kukkiwon in the presence of President Dong-sup Lee, Administrative Vice President Mu-cheon Kim, executives and employees of Kukkiwon and the program trainees. The ceremony proceeded with awarding certificates to the trainees, followed by Kukkiwon president’s awarding of citations of outstanding performance, a welcoming speech and a group photo.
The training program which started on September 16 (Fri) was completed by 43 trainees from 29 countries including 14 Asian countries (Malaysia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, East Timor, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Iran), 5 American countries (Bolivia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil), 6 African countries (Madagascar, Rwanda, Algeria, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Egypt), 1 Oceanian country (Kiribati ) and 3 European countries (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine).
The training program which was designed for Taekwondo instructors in developing countries aims to strengthen instructors’ technical expertise through standardized theoretical and practical learning of Taekwondo and to produce professional Taekwondo instructors with global awareness.
Also, the training program offers the trainees an opportunity to experience Korea’ traditional culture and share their cultures as well.
This 4-week training program included, △Taekwondo Theory (Taekwondo Terminology and Basic Movements, Poomsae (Color Belt Holders and Black Belt Holders), Demonstration, Taekwondo Self Defense Skills), △Taekwondo Practice (Taekwondo Terminology and Basic Movements, Poomsae (Color Belt Holders and Black Belt Holders), Taekwondo Taping for Injuries, Demonstration, Taekwondo Breaking, Taekwondo Self Defense Skills, Competition) and △ Special Lectures (Kukkiwon Grand Master Jong-gwan Lee, Former Secretary-General of World Taekwondo Federation Man-sik Choi).
The trainees experienced Korea’s traditional culture in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do and, had a chance to attend Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team’s performance held in Gwanghwamun.
“You are not from the same country and you do not speak the same language but I hope this training program has been a valuable opportunity for you to communicate and grow speaking in this language called Taekwondo. Please continue to be proud members of Taekwondo family and work with a sense of duty to develop the art of Taekwondo in your country” said President Dong-sup Lee in his congratulatory speech.
Kukkiwon awarded certificates to all the trainees and Kukkiwon president awarded citations of outstanding performance to top 7 trainees.
