Kukkiwon Released Abridged Version of Taekwondo Textbook to Help Readers’ Better Understand the Textbook

Single-Volume Abridged Version Includes an Appendix that Contains QR Codes

Kukkiwon released abridged version of the Korean and English editions of Taekwondo Textbook.

The abridged version was released to help Taekwondo instructors, trainees and readers better understand and use the textbook in the field.

Kukkiwon, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the organization, released the revised Korean edition of Taekwondo Textbook last December and finished putting together the English edition in July this year.

The abridged version which offers the summarized, essence of the textbook comes in a single volume and includes a short appendix that contains a QR code list.

For the abridged version, Kukkiwon enhanced the readability of the textbook by including diagrams of techniques and training areas and, put color marks for the directions of poomsae, detailed explanations for the moves and mark for the axis of rotation to help readers’ understanding.

Using the QR codes in the appendix and their mobile devices, the readers could access detailed information about the principles behind the human body and Taekwondo and, videos demonstrating accurate Taekwondo techniques, poomsae, competition and breaking.
