Kukkiwon Launches Online Taekwondo Platform, TCON After 3 ―Year Development Period

Platform launched on June 20 (Mon)…Will offer strengthened privacy security and simplified promotion application process

Kukkiwon finally launched its online Taekwondo platform, ‘TCON (Taekwondo Connected)’.

In 2019, with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s support, Kukkiwon started developing the platform, setting up the services and a HR database, and its 3 years of hard work finally came to fruition.

TCON which was launched at 9AM on June 20 is an online ecosystem connected through Taekwondo developed to improve a management system for personal information related to applying poom and dan promotion tests and, to provide customized services to the Taekwondo community.

The old software that had been used since 2006 has been replaced with the latest software, a high-availability main system has been newly installed and an anti-forgery technology has been introduced to ensure stability of the services provided on the platform.

Also, a membership system has been introduced to strengthen privacy security.

Promotion recommenders can sign up to TCON and apply for promotion tests only providing the minimum amount of personal information including their ID, the poom or dan number of the promotion candidate or the candidate’s date of birth.

This improves the privacy security when candidates’ names, resident registration numbers, addresses, phone numbers and pictures are collected by promotion recommenders.

The platform is also convenient in a way that the right to recommend candidates for promotion tests is automatically registered through the information of Taekwondo dojang the users provide as they sign up to the platform.

Also, when promotion recommenders search for promotion candidates’ information, their information appears in the form of promotion application. This will not only reduce the time filling in the application but it will also eliminate any error or omission of information in the application process.

Not only that, the platform will offer further user convenience by allowing the users to receive a variety of certificates (poon and dan certificates, certificate of Taekwondo career, licenses) in real-time, apply for jobs, place job listings and access Taekwondo videos and images.

Kukkiwon will further implement upgrades for TCON and provide additional services including a Taekwondo trainee management application and online gift shop.
