Kukkiwon to Recruit Taekwondo Masters to Dispatch, one master each for 10 countries |
3 Asian countries, 1 European, 1 Pan Am, and 5 African countries, Application opens till 2pm on Friday, March 4th |
Kukkiwon is recruiting Taekwondo masters to be dispatched to 10 overseas countries.
One master per each country will be assigned to 3 countries in Asia (Lebanon, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam), 1 country in Europe (Slovakia), 1 country in Pan Am (Jamaica), and 5 countries in Africa (Gabon, Kenya, Angola, Uganda, and Cameroon).
In order to secure the eligibility in each field, three types of masters will be recruited: 1) Type A master for competition team coaches focusing on Kyorugi (“sparring"), 2) Type B master for army, police, and school education focusing on Poomsae, and demonstration, and 3) Type C master, which is newly introduced, for general Taekwondo techniques including Poomsae and Kyorugi.
Countries subject to Type A are Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Gabon, and Kenya, countries for Type B are Lebanon, Jamaica, Angola, Uganda, and Cameroon, and lastly Type C country is Vietnam.
Applicants can choose up to 3 desired countries for dispatch, however, a cross-application between Types is not available.
While Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Gabon, and Jamaica are newly opened for recruitment, the remaining six countries are re-opened since there were no qualified applicants at the time of the recruiting process last November.
Eligibility for the master application is: 1) “Korean nationals” pursuant to the 「Nationality Act」 or “Persons who are a national of the Republic of Korea, and stay in a foreign country for a long time or obtain permanent residency in a foreign country” under the 「Overseas Koreans Foundation Act」, 2) Kukkiwon Taekwondo level 5 or higher holders with Taekwondo master qualification, 3) and persons who do not fall under any reason such as issuance restrictions or departure ban.
Those who have not acquired the Sports Instructor Qualification (Taekwondo) prescribed in the 「National Sports Promotion Act」 can still apply, but they must acquire the qualification within one year of the initial contract period.
Masters will be paid with basic salary, various allowances, housing rental fee, children's tuition (applicable only), contract extension allowance (in case of one-year contract extension), airfare (at the time of the initial dispatch and refresher training), moving expense support (at the time of the initial dispatch), severance pay, etc.
Applications are only accepted by e-mail (dispatchtkd@gmail.com), and its due is 2:00pm on Friday, March 4.
The result of the first selection (initial qualification screening through documents and video) will be announced on March 8 (Tue), and the second section (on-site evaluation: language, practical skills, and interview) will be held on March 17 (Thu). The finalists will be announced on March 22 (Tue).
