Kukkiwon signed an MOU with ‘FITFUNS’, a company specializing in metaverse, in order to actively cooperate on a participatory platform and to boost revitalization of metaverse contents on Taekwondo.

Kukkiwon and FITFUNS held the MOU signing ceremony in the Kukkiwon classroom at 3PM on Wednesday, January 12 in the presence of Kukkiwon officials, including President Lee Dong-sup, and FITFUNS officials, including CEO Roh Gi-tae and Director Hwang Seok-ju.

According to the agreement, the two organizations will mutually work on joint planning for Taekwondo metaverse content; a foundation establishment for Taekwondo metaverse platform development; information sharing for Taekwondo metaverse content production; support for successful holding of Kukkiwon-related events; support for human resources through expert exchange; and general cooperation for mutual development.

FITFUNS, a member company of 'Metaverse Alliance' operated by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), has developed ‘Futures Lab Metaverse’ for Shinhan Financial Group, Korbit virtual asset exchange metaverse ‘Korbit Town’, and Shinhan Bank’s SOL professional baseball metaverse ‘Sol Baseball Park’.

President Lee Dong-sup of Kukkiwon expressed his impressions that "I hope that this agreement will serve as a valuable opportunity for Kukkiwon and Taekwondo contents to be invigorated by the integration of cutting-edge technology."

Following to that, Rho Gi-tae, CEO of FITFUNS said, "FITTUNS and the world Taekwondo headquarters Kukkiwon will successfully lead the integration of metaverse and Taekwondo, which have the infinite growth potential."
