Kukkiwon Completes Refresher Training for Overseas Dispatch Masters

53 Masters from 53 countries participated for 2 weeks from November 22 to December 3.

 

The ‘2021 Kukkiwon Dispatch Master’s Refresher Training (hereinafter referred to as “the Refresher Training”) to improve the qualifications and strengthen the competency of Taekwondo masters dispatched overseas has been completed.

 

The Refresher Training was held at Kukkiwon, Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam, and Taekwondowon for two weeks from November 22 (Mon) to December 3 (Fri) with 53 Kukkiwon's overseas dispatch masters for 53 countries.

The dispatch masters play an important role of private diplomatic envoys for increasing cultural exchanges between countries by expanding the Taekwondo base, disseminating the Korean Wave, and maintaining Taekwondo as an Olympic sport.

 

 

 

Therefore, Kukkiwon has been held a Refresher Training every year since 2013 in order to secure the eligibility and competency that the dispatch masters should be equipped with, as well as in order to explore efficient ways to promote Taekwondo in the dispatched countries.

The Refresher Training consisted of practical and theoretical education (Poomsae, Gyorugi (sparring), and self-defense techniques), administrative education (administration, online system, and special lecture), qualification course, and others.

 

 

The qualification course in particular was newly added to this year's Refresher Training for those who have not acquired qualifications, such as Promotion/Dan judges, World Taekwondo Hanmadang judges, or self-defense masters, from the Kukkiwon's World Taekwondo Academy (WTA).

 

 

The dispatch masters who participated in the Refresher Training will depart for each responsible country from December 4 (Sat).
